In the second quarter of 2023, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in South America displayed varied performance trends across downloads and active user metrics. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these leading apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

Request a ride saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 395K at the end of March and peaking at around 474K by mid-June. The app maintained a strong base of active users, fluctuating between 18.2M and 19.3M throughout the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced growth in weekly downloads, with numbers rising from 362K in late March to around 436K by the end of June. Active users for the app showed a mixed trend, starting at around 7.9M and reaching approximately 8.1M by the end of the quarter.

Driver: Drive & Deliver had a steady performance in terms of weekly downloads, starting at about 147K and finishing the quarter at around 155K. Active users exhibited a gradual increase, beginning the quarter at roughly 1.8M and ending at around 1.9M.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides showed comparatively stable download numbers, beginning with 133K and ending with around 152K weekly downloads. The active user base for DiDi Rider grew from approximately 3.1M to nearly 3.3M over the quarter.
